BIG GAME HUNTING IN MAINE

The Outdoor Adventure Company is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Big Game Guide Service in Maine. We pride ourselves in offering the Best Guided Hunts in Maine. Maine has the largest continuous forest east of the Mississippi River. 90 percent (17.8 million acres) of Maine is forested, the highest percentage of any state. This includes 12 million acres in the northern part of Maine that is home to the Outdoor Adventure Company. Maine is the only state in the union with Canada to the west, north and east. Its size is where Maine got the nickname “the Big Woods.” The Outdoor Adventure Company leases over 30,000 acres specifically for bear hunting and has access to all 3.5 million acres in the Maine North Woods during Moose, Deer, and Grouse seasons. Turkey season sees the OAC team traversing the central and southern counties to hunt secured farms and public hunting areas. Our 700-acre base camp and farm are in Guilford, Maine on the Sebec shore road with access to Sebec Lake.

MAINE MOOSE HUNTS

The OAC team was responsible for taking the state record Bull Moose with a bow. We will be by your side on a mission to take the largest member of the deer family. Scouting and advanced calling skills are the abilities that will put that bull of a lifetime in your sights. If you are looking to ride the roads and shoot over the hood, call someone else. As the provider of the best guided hunts in Maine, we will make sure you you have the best experience possible. We strive to make this a true “hunt.” OAC staff guides will work with you to get in position to call and harvest your trophy moose. You waited a long time for the permit, make it worth the persistence. Upon your successful hunt, we will be responsible to get the animal out of the woods and if you would like we can arrange to cape and butcher the animal for an additional fee. Our focus is personal attention and individual accommodation. If you would like to be filmed by a friend or family member for the hunt, we can accommodate this too. We want your quest to be memorable. Book early and come “Live your own Adventure” in Maine.

Our success rates far exceed the big outfitters, and we provide that personal touch that gives our clients a rewarding memory.  OAC has over 50 bait sites that cover three Wildlife Management Zones (14, 9, 8, 4).  With over 30,000 acres of leased land, we have some of the best bear ground in the state.

You will stay at our new Central Maine base camp in Guilford Maine or one of our remote camps north of Moosehead. When the hunter is successful, we get your trophy out and to your desired location to be caped and butchered. Bait hunts are conducted the first two weeks of the season and bait and hound hunts are conducted the last 2 weeks. We only run 6 to 9 hunters per week. You will receive personal attention and individual accommodation. If you would like to be filmed by a friend or family member for the hunt, we can accommodate this. MAINE TURKEY HUNTS

MAINE RED STAG HUNTS

Red Stag (European Elk) — Seventh Ridge Wilderness Preserve is located atop Buker Mountain in Guilford, Maine.  Our private preserve is part of a 700-acre property managed for timber and native wildlife.  The Ridge is unique in that we currently allow primitive hunting in our preserve (Bow or Muzzleloader).  This allows the hunter to sit, stalk and hunt their trophy animal in the woods of Maine.  No large fields or farmland in our preserve just thickets, meadows, and big timber.  This is a true Maine hunting experience for Red Stag.  Tree stands and ground blinds are made available if needed. OAC can also arrange for combo hunts for black bear, whitetail, turkey and upland game.

MAINE TROPHY WHITETAIL HUNTS

Maine has a long history of deer hunting.   From the 1800s through the 1950s, Maine was considered a deer hunting Mecca.  The Northeast was the place to hunt for giant whitetails.  It is not uncommon for whitetails to weight over 300 lbs. (Live weight) in Maine.  Located between Wildlife Management Districts (WMD) 17 to the south and WMD14 to the north.  WMD 17 boasts the highest buck harvest in the state with 150 bucks per sq. mile.  We can enusre that you will have one of the best guided hunts in Maine. On the other side of the spectrum, WMD 14 has a buck harvest of 50 per sq. mile with residents that number only 9 per sq. mile.  If you’re an extreme whitetail hunter, WMD14 has plenty of big woods with miles of unbroken forest to challenge your skills once snow is on the ground.  In either district, you have the best Maine can offer.
